We are seeking a highly qualified physiotherapist to lead the provision of physiotherapy services to players in Fulham football Club academy. The role is predominately working within the Professional development phase (U18’s & U23’s) working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes that will maximise player performance, enhance recovery and reduce the risk of injury.
Work with Academy medical staff in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all injuries sustained within the Academy predominately within the PDP phase.
To liaise with the sports scientist, nutritionist, sports therapist, psychologists and other members of the medical team, regarding player performance, assessment and rehabilitation of injury and return to play.
To carry out regular comprehensive screening of all Academy players and use findings to identify injury prevention priorities for each player.
Deliver individual and group injury prevention and pre-activation exercise sessions for the Academy squads based on their individual needs.
Design and implement post-injury rehabilitation programmes for Academy players, including objective markers for return to play.
Match day medical provision for and U18’s (U16’s and 23’s when required)
Keep accurate up to date records of all injuries sustained by players as well as all treatment, prevention and rehabilitation sessions and record them on the club medical database.
Collect and lead on interpretation of well-being data to ensure athlete readiness to train and liaise with appropriate staff on player training load management
When required, accompany players to and from consultations with surgeons or specialists, scans or other medical appointments.
Maintain excellent communication and inter-departmental collaboration with all other facets of the Academy to ensure that the standards expected through the EPPP are upheld at all times
Participate and deliver CPD sessions within the team, contributing to the research and development aspect of paediatric sports medicine within FFC’s elite development programme.
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to converse and influence a wide range of people. You will be exceptionally organised, dedicated and have the flexibility to change your pattern of work as required. You will have extensive injury assessment, screening, diagnostic, manual therapy and sports rehabilitation understanding along with extensive knowledge in injury prevention methods and recovery strategies. You will have the ability to drive self -progression and learning, following through actions and direction as directed by the head of Sports Medicine.
You will have a BSc in Physiotherapy HCPC registered and be a member of the CSP. You will have had experience working within professional sport a thorough understanding of Academy EPPP guidelines which are implemented to retain our category 1 status and accredited in Advanced Trauma medical management in football (ATMMIF).
